Briana K. Fosher of Rouses Point Recognized at SUNY Canton Honors Convocation

Briana K. Fosher a Junior Industrial Technology Management major from Rouses Point, NY, 12979, was honored for excelling academically at SUNY Canton's 2013 Honors Convocation. Fosher also received a Canino Prize for Academic Excellence.

"Through your hard work and perseverance you have changed the fabric of our College," said Interim SUNY Canton President Carli C. Schiffner to students at the May 1 ceremony. "Many of you are not only very accomplished academically, but also have given numerous hours of your time for service to our campus and community. We are a better institution because of your hard work and dedication."

The College's Honors Convocation is an annual, formal ceremony designed to recognize students' academic, civic and overall achievement. Each year, the ceremony is named after the most dedicated and revered faculty members of the College's history. This year's ceremony was named for SUNY Canton Distinguished Professor Emerita Nancy R. Auster, who taught for more than 25 years.

SUNY Canton offers a variety of career-driven bachelor's degrees in addition to its associate and certificate programs. In the past year, the College added two new bachelor's degrees and expanded its facilities with a new athletic center, nicknamed Roos House, and the Grasse River Suites Residence Hall. The College's faculty members are noted for their professional real-world experience in addition to their academic credentials. SUNY Canton OnLine offers flexible and convenient online courses and programs. The College's 14 athletic teams compete as provisional members of the NCAA Division III as well as the USCAA.
