SUNY Canton Esports Offers Winter Day Camps
Canton, NY (12/26/2019) — SUNY Canton will be offering esports day-camp opportunities for area youth during the winter break.
Esports day camps run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 2 through Saturday, Jan. 4, 2020 in the college's state-of-the-art Esports Arena. Gameplay in this facility is typically reserved for varsity collegiate matches and has been opened exclusively during the winter break for the camp sessions.
"We've received tremendous interest in our program through our previous esports camps and open house events," said Charles W. Murray, SUNY Canton esports coordinator and coach. "This is a great chance for our area youth to come play their favorite games as a team."
Guests can play on one of the college's 25 Alienware Area 51 gaming PCs or on PlayStation, Xbox or Nintendo Switch consoles.
Esports camps are designed for gamers in grade six and up. Guests will need to provide their own login credentials and lunches. The cost is $25 per student per day. For more information, email Murray at murrayc@canton.edu. To register, visit http://www.canton.edu/esports/registration.html.
