SUNY Canton's Family, Friends and Alumni Weekend Set for Sept 12-13
A fireworks display will begin at 9 p.m. Saturday near the water tower at the front of campus.
Canton, NY (09/09/2025) — SUNY Canton is continuing its tradition of festivities, fun and fireworks during its annual Family, Friends and Alumni Weekend.
The event begins with the Alumni Association's Half Century Celebration, recognizing graduates of the class of 1975. The reception will be held at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 12, in the Woodcock Conference suites in the Richard W. Miller Campus Center.
Athletics Action
The weekend is also the college's homecoming celebration. The SUNY Canton Kangaroos will host five home games beginning on Friday, including:
- Women's Volleyball vs. Vermont State University, Johnson at 5 p.m. Friday in the Roos House.
- Women's Volleyball vs. Hilbert College at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Roos House.
- Women's Soccer vs. Alfred State College at 12 p.m. on the turf field.
- Women's Volleyball vs. Cobleskill at 3 p.m. in the Roos House.
- Men's Soccer vs. St. Lawrence University on the turf field.
Campus Celebration
The SUNY Canton College Activities Board, which is comprised of students, is hosting a luau-themed celebration with games and attractions from noon to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 13, in parking lot five and the Dana Hall Gym. Events include:
- Trivia challenges at 12:30, 1:30 and 2:30 p.m.
- Limbo contests at 1 and 3 p.m.
- Hula Hoop competitions at 1:50, 3:30 and 4 p.m.
A fireworks display will be held at dusk, or around 9 p.m., on the campus lawn near the Water Tower at the front of campus. Guest parking will be available in lots six, seven and eight.
