Renowned Poet Iain Haley Pollock Returns to SUNY Canton's Living Writers Series

Canton, NY (09/17/2025) — An author who has just released a third poetry collection exploring the complexities of violence and its impact on individuals and society will return to SUNY Canton this month.

Iain Haley Pollock will read from his newest work, "All the Possible Bodies," at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 25, in Cook Hall, Room 200. The event is free and open to the public.

Pollock previously visited the college in 2019 to read from his NAACP Image Award-nominated collection, "Ghost, Like a Place," and in 2013 to discuss his Cave Canem Poetry Prize-winning book, "Spit Back a Boy."

"Iain's work is gifted and a much needed salve for these challenging times," said Living Writers Series creator and Associate Professor Phil K. LaMarche. "We are honored to host him once again as a member of our extended literary family."

Pollock's poems have appeared in The New York Times Magazine, American Poetry Review, The Kenyon Review and The Progressive. He is the director of the MFA Creative Writing Program at Manhattanville University.
