SUNY Canton Offers Application Fee Waiver for Fall Visitors

Canton, NY (10/06/2025) — SUNY Canton is covering application fee costs for prospective students who attend an information event or individual tour this fall.

"This waiver is our way of saying 'thank you' to those who take the time to consider us in their future academic plans," said Executive Director of Enrollment Melissa J. Evans. "Students who visit or attend a virtual event and subsequently apply for any 2026 start term will receive a code that waives the $50 application fee."

  • The college will hold traditional Open Houses from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18 and Saturday, Nov. 1. These comprehensive events offer guests the opportunity to speak with faculty, take tours and learn about academic programs. Complimentary lunch will be provided.   • An on-campus Saturday Visit Day will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 6. This condensed event is designed for those who want to learn about application steps and student life. Tours led by current students will be available. To register: https://www.canton.edu/admissions/saturday.html.
  • A live virtual Open House will be held at 9 a.m. (EST) Saturday, Dec. 13. Attendees can log on from anywhere and meet and hear from SUNY Canton's president and provost, as well as the college's deans and faculty. To register: https://admissions.canton.edu/register/virtualopenhouse2025.
  • Each Tuesday, the Admissions Office offers extended virtual hours from 4 to 7 p.m. by appointment. Prospective students will meet with an admissions counselor to learn more about academic programs and application and enrollment steps. Individual visits are also available by appointment from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Tours and admissions counselor meetings are available. https://admissions.canton.edu/portal/visit.
