SUNY Canton to Host Open House Celebrating NSA Center of Excellence Designation
Canton, NY (11/08/2023) — The SUNY Canton Center for Criminal Justice, Intelligence and Cybersecurity invites the community to attend an open house reception in celebration of its designation as a National Security Agency Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense.
The event will be held in Dana Hall at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 15. It is free and open to the public, and refreshments will be served. Attendees are asked to RSVP: https://tinyurl.com/2v7wa3tc.
"This prestigious designation affirms that our Cybersecurity program aligns with the NSAs standards for cyber defense," said Associate Professor Kambiz Ghazinour, Ph.D, chair of the Cybersecurity Department. "It is an exciting milestone in college history, and we're inviting anyone who has an interest in this growing field to meet industry professionals and learn more about the program."
SUNY Canton has joined the ranks of several other prominent New York colleges with NSA accreditation, such as Rochester Institute of Technology, the University at Buffalo and the University at Albany.
Ghazinour said the designation also allows students to apply for full scholarships to cover the cost of tuition and other expenses. After graduation, students will be even more competitive in the regional and national job market.
The Cybersecurity bachelor's degree is one of the college's most popular programs, which can be earned in an online or in-person format.
