More than 150 SUNY Canton students receive awards for earning the highest GPA in their major and for their class year.

A student who is earning both a two and four-year degree from SUNY Canton received the SUNY Chancellor's Award for Excellence during a special awards ceremony held April 5 in Albany.

An aspiring engineer and president of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) student chapter at SUNY Canton received a Chancellor's Award for Student Excellence.

Students were recently recognized for their outstanding achievement at SUNY Canton during the spring 2014 semester. Part-Time honors are awarded to students who earned at least a 3.25 grade point average in 6 to 11 credits of course work.

"This is a day celebrating student success both individually and academically," Professor Emeritus Fay said about Honors Convocation. "I'm honored to be able to share it with them." Honors Convocation ceremony will begin at 4:15 p.m. Wednesday, May 5, in the Richard W. Miller Campus Center Intramural Gymnasium. All events surrounding Honors Convocation are free and open to the public. Students are slated to receive awards based on their grade point average specific to their year and their program.
