The SUNY Canton College Foundation recently announced its student scholarship recipients for the 2015-2016 academic year. In total, the foundation distributed more than $302,000 in the form of 265 scholarships granted to approximately 195 students. More than 60 percent of those scholarships were given to students from St. Lawrence County.

SUNY Canton proudly inducted 27 new members into the Tau Phi Zeta honor society during the spring 2015 semester. Tau Phi Zeta recognizes the academic achievement, scholarship, leadership, character and professional excellence of students enrolled in the college's Veterinary Science Technology and Veterinary Technology programs. To qualify for induction, students must achieve at 3.5 GPA.

SUNY Canton Students Recognized at Honors Convocation

Students who excelled academically were honored at SUNY Canton's 2013 Honors Convocation. "Through your hard work and perseverance you have changed the fabric of our College," said Interim SUNY Canton President Carli C. Schiffner at the event held May 1. "Many of you are not only very accomplished academically, but also have given numerous hours of your time for service to our campus and community. We are a better institution because of your hard work and dedication." The College's Honors Convocation is an annual, formal ceremony designed to recognize students' academic, civic and overall achievement. Each year, the ceremony is named after the most dedicated and revered faculty members of the College's history. This year's ceremony was named for SUNY Canton Distinguished Professor Emerita Nancy R. Auster, who taught for more than 25 years. Among the students honored were:
